Each family with a child enrolled in the Wisconsin Virtual Academy is supplied with a computer, printer, and software that adhere to WIVA requirements:

Computers provided by WIVA follow these technical specs:
- Speed: 200 MHz or better
- RAM: 32MB (minimum)
- Disk space: 200MB or more
- CDROM: 4x
- Monitor: 15-inch display
- Video: SVGA (800 x 600 pixel resolution)
- Audio: 16-bit sound card
- Modem: 33.3 kbps (minimum)
- Microphone and speakers
- Operating system: Windows 95, 98, 2000, or NT
- 33.3 kbps modem
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer
